蒙地卡羅大賭場位於摩納哥蒙地卡羅，由巴黎歌劇院的同一設計師GAMIER設計於1878年，外表和內在的天花板和牆壁都像一座豪華宮殿。1856年 摩納哥親王夏爾三世(Charles Ⅲ)在市區北邊開設了第一家賭場，目的是要解決財政危機，現在賭場為摩納哥帶來了豐厚的收入，摩納哥更成為人均收入最高的國家。後人為了紀念這位極端的 摩納哥親王，將此地區命名為「蒙地卡羅」。

照摩納哥法律，本國人不准入內賭博，只准遊客進內，憑護照交十歐元便可成爲一日的會員，憑此證才能進入賭場，而且遊客年齡必需滿21歲，男士晚間進入還需穿西裝打領帶，不可穿短褲拖鞋入場，女士也是一樣需服裝整齊。
